Ryan DeForeest is an LA-native writer and director focused on intimate, character-driven storytelling. He’s a recent fellow of the 2025 Black Queer Creative Summit, hosted by GLAAD.

His short film My Brother & Me premiered at the American Black Film Festival, screened at the Directors Guild of America and Lincoln Center, and received a nomination for Outstanding Short Form (Live Action) at the 56th NAACP Image Awards.

My Brother & Me is now available on YouTube.

He is currently developing his debut feature film, Cycles.
